| In an interesting discussion, Emory University Professor David Lynn discuses how stories and mythology help to stimulate the human imagination and push us to greater scientific discoveries. Lynn draws upon the new movie Prometheus for context for his lecture. |
The film Prometheus is set in the distant future, where two superpowers control Earth and fight each other for all the solar system's natural resources. When one side dispatches a team to a distant planet to terraform it for human colonization, the team discovers an indigenous race of bio-mechanoid killers.
Lynn is an internationally-recognized researcher and teacher in the general areas of molecular recognition, bioorganic chemistry and chemical biology.
